I can't get it to work and reading through the various other people that can't get it to work, I've tried many of the solutions, but haven't found one for me yet.

I have attached various screenshots and documents of the most asked for information.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I'm sorry, but the last two links want to me to download and run a program or a document from an unknown web server and I will not do so for security reasons. Please either cut and paste the contents of whatever they are into a message, or use the "Attach file" link at the bottom of the page like you did with the other two screenshots.

Since we really have no idea where you are looking for information please respond to the following questions or request

What happens when you go to the following website? What message do you receive? http://welcome.opendns.com/

If you are trying to block adult websites, what happens when you go to this website? http://www.exampleadultsite.com/

Please copy and paste the complete output of the following commands. If you choose to provide a screenshot rather than pasting the text do not provide a link to a third party website since it's very possible that the security conscious people reading this forum have that domain blocked. Instead use the "Attach file" link at the bottom of this page. Note, the periods at the end of each command are part of the command, do not omit them or the results won't be usable for diagnostic purposes.

nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com.

nslookup www.exampleadultsite.com.

ipconfig/all

@johnandrus
It's not your router, but your PC.

   DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 4.2.2.2
                                                 4.2.2.3

These are clearly not OpenDNS resolver addresses, but Level-3 resolver addresses.   Configure the PC to obtain the DNS server addresses automatically via DHCP from the router, or configure either your router's IP address 192.168.1.1 or the OpenDNS resolver addresses as DNS server addresses.

Are you a computer noob?  Don't use Word or image formats if a simple text format does it all.  You simply copy and paste the plain text as message here.  No need to attach binary files.

Also, I don't really know even what you're talking about.  I know nothing about networking, but I'm trying to learn.  Most of your post read like Chinese to me, but I'm googling various parts of the sentences and trying to do them.

New nslookup is looking more promising.  I googled " obtain the DNS server addresses automatically via DHCP", and realized that I didn't have obtain DNS server automatically checked, but that the 4.2.2.2 address was manually entered as you mentioned.  (I'm not sure what 3rd level domain means or if that's important to me fixing anything)  I then changed that to the OpenDNS servers as I think you suggested in this sentence " OpenDNS resolver addresses as DNS server addresses."  So I guess my question now is if the problem was this PC, do I need to change the DNS server addresses to OpenDNS on all of the computers on my network?  As you can see in the picture in the OP, I already have them changed on my router, but I was still getting the "Oops" welcome page.  Now I am not.  I would rather have OpenDNS work for my whole network.  Can I change the DNS servers on iPads and phones?  I will need to if that's what it takes.  Thanks for your help.

We aren't mindreaders on here, and we have no idea how much, or how little you know. If there is something you don't understand, then say so. Googling parts of sentences really isn't a good way to learn anything, or to understand what we are talking about. We are trying to be helpful, but if you don't communicate back there is little that we can do.

A part of your problem definitely was with the PC, since it was specifically configured so that it couldn't make use of OpenDNS in any way. If you want everything on your network to use OpenDNS you should stop manually configuring DNS settings on each computer, and instead set them to acquire DNS address automatically. When you do that they will either receive the OpenDNS addresses, or they will receive the address of your router, which is pointing to OpenDNS.

You also need to make sure that your public IP address is registered at your OpenDNS dashboard, and that the categories and domains you want block are configured. If you don't need to change anything then you can check if domains that you want to be filtered are actually filtered.

Your nslookup outputs look good now.  Best is to configure the devices to obtain the network settings (inc DNS server settings) automatically via DHCP from the router.
