I've got a N9K-C93180LC-EX switch. Could I connect a storage that has 25Gbps ports on it? If so, what are my options to connect it; which ports could I use on the switch? Will the switch ports that I connect to provide me 25Gbps speed?

as per model here is the supported ports
Up to 32 x 40/50-Gbps QSFP+ ports OR 18 x 100-Gbps QSFP28 ports
If you looking FC connection with SAN here is config guide.

Hi Balaji,
This is a IBM V7000 Gen 3 storage with 25Gbps cards on it which are either ROCEv2 or iWARP..
With the switches that I mentioned, the customer currently use them as 40Gbps for host connectivity.
1) If I were to connect it to the 25Gbps storage ports to one of the free ports; do I need to change anything on the switch end or at the port end?
2) Which ports can I use for the 25Gbps; is it the 40Gbps ports that are capable of 50Gbps or the 100Gbps?
3) If I was to connect it to the 40Gbps, I assume they operate at 50Gbps; are they capable to support the 25Gbps and deliver 25Gbps speed to the storage?
4) Finally, does this switch support ROCEv2 or iWARP; if I were to enable NVMe over Ethernet or iSER in the future?

Personally I do not believe this support backward compatibility for 25GB.
Ports are dual personalities, so you can use for 40/50 or 100GB

the 9300 series does mention 25Gb ports
but only on selected models see the links for model comparison sheets

hopefully, the original poster do mention the model here i guess - N9K-C93180LC-EX - the answer was based on the model.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for your response. But, I wanted something validated if it works or not.. For e.g If I was to connect to the 50Gbps ports, will they downgrade to 25Gbps or if I connect to the 100Gbps, will it downgrade to 25Gbps...
Just like we have the FC MDS switches that do support lower speed connections (32Gbps port support 4/8/16Gbps port connections); do these switches support lower speed connections? Can support validate that for me?

Hope i have answered already: these are fixed ports and i do not believe they have backward compatibility.

same status from me,
only the 93180YC-EX has 25G capable ports the N9K-C93180LC-EX does NOT!
