More : I've read that the maximum loss budget over the link is about 1,9 db and that the MCP itself would attenuate at least 2 db (it would be over the total loss budget, if so this standard would not have any usefulness...).
This standard is intended for legacy fiber optics like FDDI and OM1. Are there any guidelines that describe in which conditions such fiber will work with 10GBASE-LRM ?
- How many fibre junctions are allowed ?
- If there are more junctions, by which distance will it decrease the 220 m standard distance ?
- Are there any test method to check if a given link will pass or fail with 10GBASE-LRM ?
Thanks in advance !
