Hi All,
I am attempting to enable fec (forward error correction) for an optic on an ASR 900 router. I have ASR 907 and ASR 903 devices running IOS XE 17.X code. I want to know if I can tell from the release notes definitely whether or not if the fec option is supported.
I found the configuration option for ios xe, but I don't believe it is supported as I don't have it listed in the prompts per the command guides here. I found a guide for Nexus switches as well : https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus7000/sw/interfaces/config/cisco_nexus7000_interfaces_config_guide_8x/config-fec-on-optic-modules.pdf
Please advise if you have experience with this and can provide assistance.
Thank you,
T

Thank you for the quick response! I was seeing those guides as well and wondering if I was meeting that as an option. Looks like I will need to get some longer range optics!
Thanks,
