Folks,
I am working with my telco and they say their fiber run is roughly half a mile (840 m). Due to the latter, what type of fiber would be used? I am suspecting this to be Single Mode; however, I do not work with fiber. I am only curious as to what ISP usually face when providing fiber of these distances.
Thank you JJ

Single mode.

Yes - almost always single mode like Leo said.
Most often I use a GLC-LH-SMD.
I much prefer the "D" types (with Digital Optical Monitoring) as you can get transmit and receive light level readouts directly from IOS ("show interface transceiver detail"), making troubleshooting of the optical link much easier.
