Hi,
I wonder if the Gigabit Ethernet interface (GLC-ZX-SM) of Cisco 75xx/GSR can be connected directly to a SDH Network.
Can't seems to find in any documentation mentions about this matter.
I had tested this interface over dark fiber, it work well.
Thanks

Yes the Gigabit ethernet interface GLC-ZX-SM can be connected directly to a SDH network. It is compatible with SDH network. So you should not have any problems with this one. You can go ahead and connect it and check.

No you can't connect a Gigabit Ethernet interface directly into a SDH network. They use two entirely different protocols.
The GLC-ZX-SM interface is a extended reach (up to 70km) gigabit ethernet SFP GBIC. This interface is meant to run on a single-mode dark fiber.

SDH/SONET is a TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) standard for delivering synchronous data transmission over optical networks and operates with the concept of STM's (155Mbps, 622Mbps, 2.5Gbps, 10Gbps and 40Gbps).
To enable ethernet over SDH/SONET you will have to have a device to convert the Ethernet-frames into SDH-frames (typically a native SDH-interface in your router or a Cisco ONS-series router).
