Looking for SFP+ 1G transceiver

I am looking for a single mode SC connected SFP+ transceiver that will go into my

Cisco C3KX-NM-1G SFP+ Module. What would you suggest for a SFP+ transceiver? Any suggestion?

The GLC-LH-SMD would be the most common choice. The complete list of coamptible transceivers can be found here:

At the transceiver end it is an LC type connector, as is the case for all SFP+ form factor transceivers. You simply use an LC-SC duplex single mode jumper cable if you have SC type patch panel.

Using 1000Base-EX transceivers over relatively short distances is generally not recommended unless you take care to insert optical attenuators to avoid over-driving the receiving ends.

Within a building or between nearby buildings we would not normally expect fiber attenuation greater than a couple of dB. The EX transceiver transmit range specification is +3 to -1 dBm. The receiver is designed for signal between +1 to -22 dBm.

Also, the EX transceiver cost is about twice that of the LH type.

Thanks for the quick reply.

My campus only has Single mode fiber. although GLC-LH-SMD can do both single mode and multimode, i don't see the use of the multi-mode for my design.

After looking at the link you sent I would like to see what you think of using GLC-EX-SMD. It only supports multimode.

The only drawback i see on the GLC-EX-SMD is that the distance between devices is less than 40km. That may affect the transceiver if it hit by a lot of power at a short distance.
