ONS 15305 hardware configuration

Dear All,

Would you confirm if I want to have Ethernet modules (e.g. 15305-E100S1.1-8/15305-GE-2S1.1-8), I have to included 8-port STM-1, but cannot 2-port STM-1 only?

yes, you are right. The reason is that the mapper which converts the ethernet frames to SDH frames is built in only on the 8-port STM-1 module.

This will change in the future, there are new ethernet modules planned with an integrated mapper.
