Optics NEAR-end versus FAR-end

My question is about the near part. Does this mean that CHAN-1-2-1-1 is having issue since it is near?

NEAR typically relates to the node or interface closest to where you are logged into; in this case the receiver on the NEAR end port on the link. Based on the notification, the receive power is exceeding the threshold.  What interface type (transceiver) is installed in the OTU2_XP location reporting this error? You may require an attenuator to bring the optical level within range or determine what changed in the network to raise the received power level and correct it.
