Hello

Can anyone confirm if you take a MUX for example and instead of connecting the Tx of SFP's and then the muxed OUT port to a line of amp someone connects the the output of the into the Out port of the MUX and the in ports to the SFP, ie., in simple terms ...

connecting by mistake the MUX as a DeMuX and the DeMux as a MUX, will it still work ?

Light only go one side - if you connect light source to light source it not going to work

example : here ispair of Fibre patch.

This is normally true.But with passive mux/demux
What you have is is not a tx/Rx, I am talking about a prisim that's splits light or combines light...that's it.So it does not know what you decide to connect.
So if you connect a multiplexed signal to the OUT port of a MUX it will still split the light I believe and you will still be able to see specific wavelengths on the outside of the mux. And the opposite for DEMUX unit used as MUX...this is the question ...it is a passive unit so it does not know you are using the thing in wrong way

Personally i do not belive that work, that should Mux Job, i do not think you can do with any of SFP Optic - if i understand correctly.
