Upgrade WS-C3650E-48TD 1G SFP to 10G SFP on network module - reboot required?

We have several WS-C3560E-48TD switches with the network module installed.  At this time those modules have 1G SFPs.  We'd like to replace those SFPs with 10G SFPs (new fiber runs, same SFP on both sides of the fiber) in the same port slot.

Is it necessary to replace the SFPs with the switch powered down?

Is it necessary to reboot the switch after replacing the SFPs?

We have no problem with the power-down or re-boot scenarios, it's just a matter of scheduling.  It would be much more convenient if these are hot-swappable even with the bandwidth change.

I had searched for several hours and couldn't find any relevant doc.  Shortly after I posted the question above, I finally stumbled on the answer.  The X2-10G modules are hot swappable for the twingig converter modules.  There is a caution that removing the twingig module could cause a temporary disruption in traffic over the other module; and swapping the X2 hot could shorten the life of the module.

It was necessary to find out exactly what "network module" was installed; once I had that as a keyword my search finally yielded results I could relate to.  Relevant command on the 3560 was 'show inventory'.

Hello Michael,

SFPs are hot pluggable, so you do not need to power down the switch.

These transceiver modules are hot-swappable input/output (I/O) devices that plug into 100BASE, 1000BASE and 10GBASE ports (for SFP+), which connect the module port with the fiber-optic or copper network.

EDIT:

Note the TD-E uses SFP ports. The TD-S uses X2. Do not hot-swap X2 modules.
