This is a new setup for testing. I have a call manager and 1 phone (phone A) on the same subnet and 1 phone (phone B) on a different subnet which is behind a PIX 510. The call from phone A to phone B completes normally. A call from phone B to phone A initiates but never completes.
The sniffer trace indicates that both phones send a TCP SYN packet to the IP address of their respective default routers once the number has been dialed. The reply is a reset (RST) packet. In the case of phone B it appears that the PIX sends a reset and drops the session. There are multiple attempts from the call manager to phone B which are never received and the call is not completed.
QUESTION:
Is it normal for the 7900 series phone to attempt a connection to the "default router" ?
Is there a way to configure the phone not to send a TCP SYN to the router?
Thanks,
Glenn
