7960 Autoanswer to Speaker phone problem

I have had three 7960's in the past week go directly to speaker phone when a call comes in. I am at version 3.12c, so it is not a supported option/function. What could cause this? A known issue? I am re-booted the 3524 switch that feeds this aea, but I can't believe its related to that.

I'll answer my own post, as we discovered the problem. The 7960 would go to speakerphone when a line rang AND the user went to pick up the handset. What turned out to be the problem was the carbon handset button was dirty inside the 7960. Take it apart, used the pencil eraser, and it all works fine now.
