We use the 871W for telecommuting purposes with our company. We are using IP phones currently the Cisco 7960 and that works fine with the AC adaptor, but our company is switching over to Avaya IP phones and they do not have an external power source. Which brings me to my question.
If I only needed one port for the phone does the 800-IPLM-4 allow you to configure them for if POE is turned on or off?
Also I see there are plenty of single port power injectors that are IEEE 802.3af compliant and would probably work fine. I just wasn't sure of the best option in our scenario.
Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated.

With only one port being used, it's better to get a power injector.

well both are listed as power injectors, but I am guessing your vote is for the single port?

Nah. My vote is for the power injector ... or whichever is cheaper.
