Add external contacts to CUCM

Hi,

I am currently working on a request that was submitted wherein the request is to upload external contacts (from an ERP platform) to the CUCM with a 10.5 version. I am having difficulty looking for any documentation or tutorials on how to achieve this. The option that they are considering is to upload external contacts via .csv file though I do not see any option for this on the CUCM.

The goal is to:

1. To be able to determine who is calling in if it is an external contact registered in the ERP platform.

2. To be able to look up the name of an external contact via Directory mode rather than looking for the name on the ERP platform then dialing it on the phone.

Hope you could help with the concern. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If you mean to add users to the corporate directory, they can only be:

A) LDAP users

B) Local users

Those are your options.

CUCM does NOT provide ANI to name mapping for phones, if that's what you're trying to achieve. You would need to buy a 3rd party directory/solution to achieve that.

Hi Jaime,

Thank you for your prompt response.

Using a 3rd party application sadly is not an option. I did see that the ERP (Employee Relations Program) is added to as an LDAP but according to the requester the contacts are not on an LDAP and wants to add the contacts on that platform via .csv. So its a bit confusing.

I am considering to use an SDK in order to utilize the "LDAP" connection that I saw and see if it would be possible. The problem is the SDK is no longer available online.

Your options to add those users are either AXL or BAT, the CSV info you have would need to match the format required to be inserted with BAT.

Other alternative would be to create your own directory script and see if wherever the users from the ERP are can be used as a contact source, or create a directory with fixed entries.

Thanks for the info Jaime. I will try that approach.
