Add on new ip phones to existing CUCM version 8.5 (Argent)

My Customer have CUCM version 8.5, and he need to buy new Cisco Phones with new licenses, what is the licenses should be ordered ??

Hi There,

Unfortunately, licenses for CUCM 8.5 and 8.6 are no longer available for purchase.

At the moment you can only buy additional licensing for UCM 9.X or higher.

However, if you plan on upgrading and installing new Cisco phones with the new version 9.X or higher licenses, the license type will depend on the user/phone.

There are 3 main types of phone only licenses (Essential UCL, Basic UCL, and Enhanced UCL). There are other types of licenses which apply to users who own more than one device.
