One of our facilities uses an analog line into a Motorola ZR340 Interconnect GR300. This allows a caller to dial an ext and talk to multiple radios through out the facility. This site was just brought into our VOIP setup. I used an ATA 188 to provide this analog line to the repeater. It answers normally and allows the caller to talk. However, when the caller hangs up the line is left open. After about 30 a dial tone is played out to the radios followed by a busy signal which continues for a good 30 seconds. Is there an easy way to tell the ATA to disconnect after several seconds of silence?

I did the same thing with Zetron Model 35a's to a VHF system.
Not sure about the ATA but if you use a router with an FXS port you can write a TCL script and tell it to play a dialtone or busy after the call disconnects. Turns out the 35A will disconnect on 5 secs of "second" dialtone.
So you may want to see if your interconnect has such a value. You are running into a classic supervision problem!
Hope that helps
