Hi,
Could somebody please advise on wether it is possible to configure an ATA to use G711a Law for all calls.
I can see that in the capabilities exchange it negotiates G711u Law first, and subsequently all calls made use this.
I am using CME on a 3725, I'm not sure which version, the .bin filename is P00403020209 if this gives a clue (please advise), the ATAs are directly connected and have v3.02 SCCP.
Regards,
Mat P.

The Cisco ATA supports the following voice codecs (check your other network devices for the codecs they support):
G.7115-law
G.711A-law
G.723.1
G.729
G.729A
G.729B
G.729AB

Thanks, But can you advise on how to force it to use G711 A-Law between the ATA and the 3725 running CME?

On the dial-peer set on CME (Voip dial-peer), use command, "codec g711alaw".
On the ATA 186 config page, use TX and RX Codec as 1 for G711alaw. This should force the ATA to use G711ALAW.

Apologies for the late response.
TAC have advised that it isn't possible to force the ATA to use G711 Alaw only.
It isn't going to be an issue as we have an E1 connection to our PBX which does use Alaw.
Thanks for the response.
