Understand there is packatization delay when voice across IP wan. G.711 uaually sample the codec 20ms for 20 bytes, this is the packetization delay. Here is my scenario:
IP phone-LAN-GW-PRI. There is echo even calling local PSTN phone. Usually IP phone caller won't hear echo if delay less than 25ms one way based on cisco document. Local pSTN call only takes less than 10ms. My question is: is there 20ms packetization delay in the above case because I think usually packetization happens in the following: FXS-gW-IP WAN-GW-FXS.
