Is it possible to create a speed dial for the receptionist so that the speed dial contacts 4 people at once for emergency purposes?

Also I am trying to figure out how to allow calls to overflow to another Phone/extension.

Easiest way is to create a regular speed dial to an extension and then assign that extension to the 4 phones you want to contact for emergencies.

As far as the calls to overflow (I assume you mean when the phone is busy) on each phone you want that to happen instead of having the phone roll over to voice mail when busy make that number another extension.

Hope that helps. Please remember to rate all replies

When you say assign the extension to the other phones do you mean assign it to the second line?

Thanks

Sorry Travis but can you elaborate on this or point me to the appropriate doumentation?

Yes, I mean the emergency extension can be configured as the second line on the 4 phones. It doesn't have to be a second line though. It can be the primary line as long as all the phones that you want to call have this extension added.

Thanks,

Travis

Thanks, I'll try this tomorrow. As for the call overflow when all current extensions are busy, are you speaking of pilot points and configuring a new pilot point?

Is this link correct?

Not quite what I had in mind so I may not understand what you are trying to do. Why don't you list the call flow exactly as you want it to happen so I can be sure of what you want to happen.

Thanks,

Travis

I guess the question is. If a user is busy on all lines or all of their lines are busy they would line to have additional calls flow to another prone/extension. I would guess that last line on their phone would be considered the overflow line that calls would go to another person. I will get more detail.

Is it possible to change the speed dial description that gets dialed. For instance, if the receptionist hits the speed dial I would like the description to show up on the dialed number to be "Emergency"

If you configure the internal caller ID on the DN that gets dialed during an emergency to say "Emergency" instead of someones name then "Emergency" would show up when that DN was dialed.
