Running CM 4.1(3)sr1. Tried this in 2 different setups. A call is active on button 1 of the phone, another on button 2. I need to be able bring these 2 calls into a conference. Conference and select/join do not seem to work as the do with 2 calls on the same line/button.
Is there anywork around?
For more details, the setup we are using is as described here:

Join feature is your friend.
Conference by Using Join Softkey

I think I know why.
Join softkey only work at same button. Call 1 at button 1, Call 2 at button 2 wont join together.
Since before 4.0 verison, you have to create line 2 at button 2 for call-waiting funtion. After 4.0... you can have 199 calls in single one button.
I end up to delete all the second line at button 2 and tell users how to answer second call to press softkey "answer". That is so pain (technically and politically)....
But that is the only way to make the "join" feature to work.

You could park the call on the second line key and pick it up on the first one.. Kinda cumbersome, but it does work.

Hi Nick,
I'm not sure if this is a problem affecting many users or just a few admin type's. But if this is a small group and they have 7960's for example you could do the following.
Set up an internal(wxyz) number on Line 5 with the same Partition as Line 1.
If a 2nd call comes in (on Line 2 in the Line 2 Partition ) and you want to use the select/Join softkeys to connect line 1 and Line 2.
First Transfer the call to the new DN (wxyz) in Line 1 Partition and then try the Select/Join method. I'm pretty sure it is the Line 1 and Line 2 Partitions from the shared line method you are using that are preventing this method currently.
Hope this helps!
Rob
