Cisco 5300 and FAX receiving

Hello,

I am trying to receive FAX on my 5300 gateway, FAXes are coming from SIP in G711 codec with inband DTMF,

Cisco receive call on VOIP dial-peer and send it to POTS:

dial-peer voice 1200 voip

huntstop

incoming called-number 2307602T

no modem passthrough

codec g711ulaw

!

dial-peer voice 1201 pots

huntstop

destination-pattern 2307602T

no digit-strip

port 0:D

forward-digits all

prefix 5

Then I have T1 0 connected via cross over cable to T1 2 on same cisco:

dial-peer voice 1400 pots

huntstop

application on-ramp

incoming called-number 52307602T

information-type fax

no digit-strip

direct-inward-dial

port 2:D

forward-digits all

!

dial-peer voice 1401 mmoip

huntstop

application fax_on_vfc_onramp_app out-bound

destination-pattern 52307602T

information-type fax

session target mailto:efaxrelay@IP-ADDRESS

mdn

dsn success

So.. actuall fax receiving happening on dial-peers 1400 and 1401 sends it to email server. It works just fine on short faxes but overal quality is bad.. some faxes get corrupted, in case of multipage faxes some pages usually in the middle of the fax get corrupted.

twoquestions: is what i am doing make any sense and second question is there any way to limit cisco to receive faxes on not more then 9600 rate ?

Thank you

I think you may be running to bug CSCdu76098, fax relay is broken when modem passthru is configured.

If you are under T.38 Fax-relay broken when using IVR Session Application, try this bug - CSCdv27502.
