Can anyone tell me whether the new conference software from Cisco can conference in IP phone calls across a WAN at G.729 or is it limited to G.711 conferencing and a single site IP telephony system?
If it does conference in G.729 is it limited to 6 G.729 calls per conference due to DSP resources?

The initial version is limited to G.711 streams, and it certainly can take calls across the WAN. However due to the larger bandwidth requirements for G.711 streams, you would probably want to use transcoding resources. For this you can use 6608 card, 4604 card, or VG200 with DSP farm card.

I have a 2620 Router Cisco Call Manager, Unity and 7960 IP phones. The Call Manager is 3.1 from this response It seems that the Conference Manager is still stuck at G711. Is there any way other then purchasing hardware to make up for the conference manager not supporting G729?
