Hello, community,
I am currently working on the configuration of CUBEs. At the configuration of dial-peer there is the possibility to configure "options-ping" and "options-keepalive". What exactly is the difference between the two and when to use "option-keepalive" and when to use "option-ping"?
Thank you :)

One is used to turn on option ping on directly on the dial peer and the other is used to turn it on with a profile. The latter would be used if you use server group for destinations.

Hello Roger,
Thanks for that.
I've tested it and it works both ways.
But I have an ISR4431 with the IOS version Cisco IOS XE Software, version 16.09.05 where the options-ping has no effect on the dial-peer.
When I look under "show dial-peer voice summary", no values like "active" or "busyout" are shown. If I configure "options-keepalive profile X" it works.
I have the same configuration on another ISR4431 and it works with "options-ping".
is that a BUG maybe?

Can you please post your dial peer configuration for the one that you say don’t work with option-ping?
