We have an issue on implementing outbound option. The calls should be flexible to support g.711 and g.729 calls. unfurunately the Ip dialer only support g.729. Does anyone wants to explain why this is so? What are the process does the IP dialer do and the protocols underlying it?

Did you check for the release notes. It might have some info on the codec support.

are you using 6.0 dialer ?
if yes - we have just released a Engineering Special that allows a G729 path between the dialer and the agent.
