We are using Unity 4.0(2), and am trying to find out how to use the
cisco PCA for recording or changing the recording on voicemail users. I
can change the recording device to be the phone, but the record or play
buttons are greyed out. I cannot find anything that talks about this,
so any advice would be great.
Thanks
Tommy

From the information provided, the MediaMaster component is having trouble. Before going further, please specify what you are attempting, is it changing a subscriber greeting, recorded name or recording a new voice mail?
Can you also specify the PCA page where this problem is occuring? In doubt just paste the last part of the URL starting with "ciscopca".
Note that "recorded name" can be disabled from the Class of Service->profile. If the name was not recorded, and this is disabled, there is nothing to play and you can't record a new one.
Thanks,
PatH

There are two known causes for both the play and record buttons being greyed out:
Possible Cause 1: The cscoserv\ciscopca\WEB-INF\web.xml "unityurl" setting contains either the 127.0.0.1 IP address or the "localhost" host name or a host name that is unresolvable from the client box, rather than a network IP address or a valid DNS name.
Recommended Action: Replace the Unityurl value with a proper host IP address or DNS name. Then restart the Tomcat service.
Possible Cause 2: The AvMMProxySvr service is down
Recommended Action: Start up the AvMMProxySvr service
The above conditions are being added to the CPCA troubleshooting guide for 4.0(3).
Thanks,
Harsha
