Hello everyone I dont know where should i asked this query but i'm comfortable with this forum.
I nearly finished all the config in cisco Proprietary devices using packet tracer 5.3.1
Now my IT Head recently told me that where going to used AVAYA G430 GATEWAY
LINK: http://www.avaya.com...%20brochure.pdf
to manage the Trunk Lines of our company, with capability of auto hunting of available line number and "no busy tone line"
my problem now:
where should i create the DHCP POOL VOICE? cisco router or avaya gateway?
honestly i dont know how will it works with the cisco router 2911.
end user IP Phones that will be use are Avaya IP Phones.
i know with this i will be using OSPF rather EIGRP
please please please... help me....

My recommendation is to configure the DHCP pools on the Core Catalyst if you want to centralize the DHCP pool and if the core Catalyst is a Layer 3 device.
I don't like to run DHCP across Firewall.

thank you for your reply...
I will be configuring the DHCP pool of DATA_Vlan's on CORE Switch
im having problem with the CME. as practice i configure it on my router.
now that Avaya g430 gateway has been added to my network topology. im assuming i will have to configure something so that the router can able to get the DHCP POOL VOICE somewhere else.
my current config is that:
dhcp pool VOICE_VLAN on router
cme on router
phone directory on router
dhcp pool DATA_VLAN on core switch
...........

If the IP phones are not on the same IP subnet as the DHCP server, you need configure an IP helper-address on the core switch to forward the DHCP packet to the DHCP server. The IP helper address will point to the DHCP server.

I already configured that part.
the part which not clear to me is how will avaya g430 gateway works with cisco router and core switch...
will i need to configure the IP DHCP POOL VOICE on the Avaya gateway?
will i need to configure the CME on the gateway?
thus leaving the router just to manage the routing protocols and load balancing

DHCP is a protocol which will provide your IP phones with an IP address, Subnet mask, default GW ... + some specific options.
The DHCP server can be on the CME router or on the Avaya GW if the Avaya GW is able to provide the DHCP server fonctionality.
Therefore, it doesn't really matter where you configure the DHCP server fonctionality.
As already mentionned, the DHCP server forthe IP phones can also be placed on the Catalyst server as well i.e. closer to the IP phones.
