Dear All,
I prepared a console cable as stated on the cisco website, but it didn't work, is there any extra configuration needed to be done to console the Phone ?
Thanks in advance.

Ok! if you have a phone cable that has only 4 wires, remember the first wire is actually wire number 2. The reason for this is because there are suppposed to be 6 wires in the phone cable, but only 4 are used..for this reason, all phone cables in the market today have only 4 wires.
Hope this helps

Hi Ashok,
Thanks for your fast response.
I am using the PIN assignment from Cisco:
RJ-11 --> RJ-45
2 --> 6
3 --> 4
4 --> 3
but still i get nothing !
Is there something i've missed ?
Thanks in advance.

Mo,
Can you please attach a picture of the exact connections? I mean, show me how you are counting 1 -6 on both sides. Thanks!

ok i see the problem..
look at your pins on the RJ11.
currently it is like this: 1 2 3 4
It should be like this: 1 2 3 4 5 6
Note that there are only 4 wires on the RJ11 plug. Pin 1 and 6 are not provided (because it is never used).. So, the left most pin is actually pin number 2..
