I want to know what is the difference in operation between g.729 and g.729a when dsp is working and what is the core behind the medium and high complexity operation in cisco routers.

Thanks shanky! the link is cool, but if you have more information about the operation of dsp c542 and c549 in mode medium and high complexity please send the link for review.

G.729 uses one DSP resource while G.729a uses two, high complexity refers to codecs using G.729, medium complexity refers to codecs using G.729a. The codec complexity depends the router and IOS, and of course high complexity has a higher quality than medium.
