Disabling Beep tone on pressing Mute button on IP Phone 7940/7960

Does any body Know how to disable beep tone when the mute button is pressed on a ip phone 7940/7960 for CCM ver is 3.2.3.

Currently there is no provision to disable this feature.

This is veeeeery annoying - if you guys make people listen to beeps for hours (some of us spend quite a lot of time on such conferences), there must be a feature included to disable the beep. Not really sure what is the purpose in the first place - think brightly lit up button is enough and people can figure out they are on mute anyway... very very annoying - please fix.

There is no "fix" as this is not considered to be broken in the first place, if you wish this to be considered for a future releases, you need to get in touch with your AM to submit a PER.

what is the point of the beep?  I know I am pressing a button.  The red light is sufficient for indication.  For anyone working in an office who needs to mute/unmute constantly.  this is very annoying
