Hello Team,

I have a customer who is running DMM-DMP ver 5.0. The content server was upgraded from Win2003 to Win2008. The DMP's are now not able to play the content on the screens. All the screens are now blank.

May someone who experienced the same issue before please shed some light to on how to resolve this issue.

Thank you in advance,

Sibusiso.

Do the DMP's show registered to the DMM successfully?

Hello Andrew,

Thank you for your response, yes the DMP's are registered successfully and we can ping and connect to them using the web browser.

Sibusiso.

Sounds like they were using the Windows server as a web server and were providing links directly from there to the DMP's.  Also sounds like the DMM was not being used for content at all.  If that 's the case, it may be that something broke in the Windows server IIS web server.  Here are a few things to test.

1. Look at the web configuration pages on the DMPs.  I'm assuming they are either 4400's or 4310's?  In either case, look in the section Display Actions, Media Playback.  There should be a URL where the content should be coming from.  Copy this URL to your browser, can you get the content?

2. You can set your own URL in this section as well.  Select the Protocol button as HTTP:// then enter the desired URL in the Media URL line.  Set it to anything you know will work (http://www.cisco.com for example if the DMP can get to the Internet).  Hit Start at the bottom of the screen.  If you see content, the problem isn't the player.
