DMP 4400G - transitions between ads

Greetings - I have a series of about a dozen 30 second ads running on the DMP 4400G. Is there a way to change the transitions between each ad, say either a smooth fading transition or just a cut to the next? At the moment there's a 2 or 3 second white screen while the next ad loads which looks a little distracting.

thanks

* Try enabling caching on the DMP

* Another option is deploying the the playlist locally to the DMP

Cheers

Thanks for the advice. Enabling caching did not make a difference and I will try deploying locally to the DMP hopefully soon. In the meantime I have consolidated all ads into one flash file which works quite well. Some other improvements I found were that running flash ads in a small zone rather than full screen improves motion performance.

Raschid,

I continued to research this and in addition to what you already have done

I found some more information related to your issue.

There is a known issue with transition issues between contents in a playlist.

Defect Information:

CSCtd44817-Transition time is 5-7 seconds between two videos

The problem will be addressed in the next firmware release but there are some

workarounds:

1. Create a Larger File or combine content items.

2. Problem is related to syslog misconfigured in default configuration causing

browser to block.   This can be worked-around by the following MIB changes:

    init.syslog_collector          change to 127.0.0.1 (Default is 192.168.1.1)

    Using DMPDM:

If syslog is disabled, enable it and set the syslog server

address to 127.0.0.1, disable it, save and restart the DMP.

    Using DMM:

create a task to change the syslog server address to 127.0.0.1

    and deploy to all DMPs.

3. Disabling video failover will improve transition time.

I Hope this Helps!

T.
