E1 to E1 via Call Manager?

I need to connect a RightFax server with an E1 interface, in a 37xx router and route calls using Call Manager to another E1 port connected to a PSTN line. The PSTN line is the main incoming/outgoing voice link to the PSTN.

The CM is effectively switching a call on one E1 (Fax srvr) to the other E1 (PSTN line). I know you can do this transit swicthing with voice as we have done it before however, I have always been pushed back by Cisco who say it would be "unsupported".

I don't want to buy an E1 just for the FAX server. So anyone know if this 1)works and 2) is supported or 3) there is a better way to address this need?

You need to terminate the E1 on a router card and connect the Ethernet of the router to the CCM.
