Info: Unity 3.x, Windows 2000 server sp2, exchange 5.5, Unity and Lightning fax are on seperate servers.

Are there any ramifications in shutting down our lightning fax server connected with Unity?

Basically what we need to do is upgrade the 2GB hard drive (how'd that get in there?) on our existing fax server. My plan of attack is to shut down the server image/ghost it, put in the new larger hard drive and restore the image.

Would there be anything on Unity that would need to be restarted?

Thanks,
W

In Unity 3.x we don't have any direct connection to the fax server (Lightning fax or otherwise) that would cause a problem here. All our communication to the fax server goes through its Exchange gateway. Outbound faxes we send to the gateway while they're down will just queue up waiting for the fax server to come back on line to service them.

shouldn't be a problem at all.

Upgrading a fax server hard drive can significantly improve performance and storage capacity. Consider factors like server compatibility, operating system, and data backup before proceeding. For optimal results, consult the server's documentation or consider professional assistance. If you're unsure about compatible drives, exploring options like dsk direct might be helpful.
