FXO Port what Functionality/Limitations?

Hi,

I am setting up a CME lab with a FXO Module and later may be used for our small branch offices.

- What are the limitations of the FXO Ports?

- Will I be able to check called numbers?

- Can I use Fax Duet line?

Not sure about CME, but in a gateway if you want to have it accept inbound calls to a specific number you need to set the voice-port up with a PLAR number if an H323 gateway, or AutoAttendant number in the gateways MGCP configuration in CM if using MGCP.

Or if you want to you and you don't configure this, then when someones dials, the FXO port will answer then present a second dial-tone to the caller, whereupon the caller will have to dial an ext number in to call an ext. Its called 2 stage dialling.
