GRE and Linksys over Internet

Has anyone tried to connect 2 sites together over the internet using Cisco routers behind Linksys?

Typically Remote site looks like this:

Cisco Router-->Linksys-->INTERNET-->Cisco 36xx(MAIN)

The Remote Site is doing a GRE Tunnel to the Main Site on the right. The Main Site, is Completely Exposed to Internet and has a public IP.

What's weird is this. Some Remote Sites connect to the Main site via GRE tunnel, however, some don't. Seems that those who do connect are using the older Linksys Routers that are NOT wireless..

As a test, we we moved the Linksys out of the picture, and made the Cisco Router on the internet, the GRE tunnel came up 100% of the time. Its only when we put the Cisco Router behind the Linksys and using the Linksys as the DEF. GW to the INternet. Something with the Linksys not passing PROT. 47 (GRE). Sometimes its works, and sometimes it doesn't.

Any advice?

thanks,

tony
