Hardware Detection for OS 2000.2.7 on IBM x346

Hi,

Attempting to boot a brand new x346 from hardware detect CD 2000.2.7 fails. The CD drive boots other bootable CDs but doesn't even seem to detect the presence of a CD.

Any assistance appreciated ?

Hi,

I had the same problem with the original shipped CD and DVD's for 2000.2.7, contact your local Cisco SE and have Him/Her download a new set fo you. There is also error on the X346 image, so when you get past the HW detection CD and load the image, you will get a chechsum error... so remember to get the DVD image for x346 also

You should request 2000.2.7a CD's for this server.

The operating system displays mismatched Network Interface Card (NIC) numbers on the IBM X346, MCS 7835-I1, and MCS 7845-I1 servers with the B1 revision of the NIC.

The 2000.2.7 should install but the NIC name may not seem correct. 2000.2.7a fixes this.
