How precise is SAA agent echo RTD measurement, when CPU load is high?
I consider to use IOS Service Assurance Agent (SAA) for Service Level Measurement for QoS IP service for VOIP.
SAA agent measures echo Round Trip Delay (RTD) for UDP and ICMP echo, by sending echo request and reply packets between SAA agents.
This probably works fine with high precision, when router CPU load is low.
The issue is, how precise is this measurement, when router CPU load is high, e.g. 80%. The SAA agent response time for an incoming echo request, and processing time for incoming echo reply will probably be higher, and the precision of the measurement therefore smaller, when router CPU load is high.
I request information and experience with this, especially for small routers, i.e. 1750, 2600 and 3600.
I will use IOS 12.1(5)T9 or 12.2(6).
