I am new to VOIP. I have a customer with a NEC PBX. They want to transmit voice from the PBX over FrameRelay. We are using a 3662 router with a NM-HDV-2t-48 module. I assume that one of the WICs will be used for the frame circuit and the other will connect to the PBX. I am not sure what type of connection should go from the 3662 to the PBX. I assume it should be a T1 link, but is it a PRI and is that PRI just between the PBX and the router or does it go to the PSTN before it hits the 3662. I would appreciate any comments, suggestions or links for more information.
Thanks,
Bruce

between the 3600 and pbx you cpuld do pri and yes it would just be a isdn pri between the pbx and router. you could also do
controller T1 1/0
framing esf
linecode b8zs
ds0-group 0 timeslots 1-24 type e&m-wink-start
theres more to it though, youll need your dial peers and digit manipulation etc....

Thanks, so your saying I could use either PRI q.931 signalling or E&M signalling. I guess it depends on what the PBX will support E&M or PRI signalling.

yes. I have not worked with the nec but haved worked with nitsuko ( a lesser known japanese pbx) and avaya/lucent g3's and you can do it either way usuallly but if not both ways one of the 2 will work.
edit- i just your company name. i just did some VOIP work with some BANI/Verizon guys here in NY.
