I am trying to add for the first time an IP Communicator device (2.1) to our CUCM 6.1. But when I use the User Management --> User/Add Phone. I need to fill in the type of phone. But I can't find the IP Communicator in this list. What am I missing?

Hi,
There was a bug CSCsc71958 on CUCM 5.X, but it was not fixed. So you can try adding the IPC by going into: Device--> Phone--> Add New and then associate the phone with the user by going into User Management--> End User--> Device association.
If you feel this bug should be fixed open a TAC case and make reference to it so we can track it and pass it to the dev team.

simply try with auto-registration and then modify the device data as needed
