Is it possible with Cisco IOS Telephony Service 2.0 to integrate an ATA186 without an CCM. I need it for fax integration instead of use a vic-2fxs.
Thanks in advance
Martin

This shouldn't be a problem. Set the outgoing GW as the SIP proxy server in your ATA, and disable SIP registration. Whatever you dial will go to the GW. Enable SIP on the GW and add a default dial peer to route all calls to the PSTN.
Configure G.711 as your codec, don't use fax relay. I am not sure if the fax relays of GWs and the ATA are compatible.
Note also that you need a newer ATA to use higher fax speeds (14.4).

Hi, Thomas, do you mean that the ATA support Fax Relay? What I always knew is that it does support Fax Bypass (or transparent, or passthrough), which means using G.711 to transmit everything transparently.
Thank you
Paulo.
