JabberGuest link crashed after upgrade of Expressway boxes to X8.6

Hi All,

I wanted to ask if somebody already experienced issues with JabberGuest link after upgrade of Expressway's from X8.5.3 to most recent version (X8.6) ?

I've got following error message when i tried to use JG link (see attached picture).

DNS is working and before upgrade JG links worked as well.

Thanks to any advice

Tomas

I can create the same issue if I rename my Jabber Guest Server on the Expressway-C to an FQDN that does not match the FQDN of the Jabber Guest Server.

Renamed it under Configuration > Unified Communications > Jabber Guest Servers

Setting the Address to the correct FQDN resolved the issue.

The problem is that FQDN of jabberguest server set in Exp-C match perfectly FQDN of jg server itself :) As i mentioned before upgrade JG worked well

Are you using vApp to set the Hostname of the Jabber Guest or are you using the network.config settings from root of the Jabber Guest server?

Accessing the network.config file from Root can be seen on -

Hi Havogel,

I have used network.config settings from root to set hostname of JabberGuest server

Hi Havogel,

Btw. Issue was caused by bug in x8.6 sofware version (CSCuw26432) which was fixed in next minor release.

Just to keep you informed :)

Hello Vince,

Haven't seen this bug yet on the deployments I have assisted with or in the lab setup. Appreciate the heads up!

10.6.9 of the Jabber Guest Server was released 12/11/2015. Couple new features are present on it. It also fixes the one way Media with SRTP that was seen in conjunction with VCS 8.6.1+.

Hans

Hi Hans,

I know. I did upgrade of our JG server today, because as you probably know in previous version there was incompatibility issue with VCS X8.7 regarding SRTP :)

Now it looks it was fixed in 10.6.9

Hi Guys,

I was in discussion with TAC engineer and we found the way how to "recover" JG links.

We have just changed priority assigned to JG server from value 1 (default value) to 0 configured at VCS-C (see attached picture). From my point of view it's a bug in software of VCS because in previous version (X8.5.3) it was working even with priority set to 1.
