Less Specific Route pattern

Hi there,

I got a customer in which is using legacy Nortel PBX talking, all users are assigned with 4-digit extension number, range from 0000 to 9999. Now they are migrating to CCM 3.3.3. A 3640 voice gateway is now connected to the PBX for providing connection between IP Phone and legacy phones. A route pattern xxxx pointing to this gateway is configured in CCM for IP Phone calling to legacy phone. On the other hand, user will keep the same 4-digit extension as using in Nortel PBX, that means users IP Phone extension will surely fall into the range of 0000 to 9999. When an IP Phone(with DN 1234) call another IP Phone(with DN 5678), will it fall into the XXXX route pattern, or just directly go to the phone 5678?May I ask also that is there any conflict to create the route pattern xxxx in CCM for this case?

Call Manager will route on the most specific match but also based on partition order in the CSS.

So if you have

CCM_phones_p

nortel_phones_p

externalcalls_p

outboundcalls_css - ccm_phones_p, nortel_phones_p, externalcalls_p,

extension 2000 in ccm_phones_p

extension 2001 on the nortel

route pattern 2XXX in nortel_phones_p to Nortel gateway

a user who calls 2001 from a cisco phone with the outboundcalls_css assigned will go to the nortel, but dialing 2000 would go to the CCM phone, firstly because it is the more exact match and second because of the route list order.
