I have a customer who has forgotten their DC Directory "Directory Manager" password. None of the other documents here on NetPro help because the password is lost.
I have been using c:\dcdsrvr\bin\passwordutils.exe to try and substitute a new password without success. Yes I have made sure I've restarted the WWW and DC Directory services after this!
I can see in the registry the value of the "DCDMGRPW" key but do not know how to reverse 'engineer' this back to the original password.
Or does anyone know how to reset the password to a new value?
CM version is 3.3(3)

DC dir password changing tool cant be used here.
What the customer needs to do it to re-configure the DC dir. Customer may loose the entire data in DCdir.
There is a readme on DCD scripts on CCO pages, which has a documented mechanism to clean up the DCD.

TAC has access to a tool that will deobfuscate it. It's really too weak to be called encryption. They've done it for us in the past. Contact them with the obfuscated value and they'll help you out.
