Multiple Global Call ID's with same number

We have noticed that Global Call ID's often repeat themselves within the same month or quarter. Any reasons why?

Actually, Global call id is the call identifier that is assigned to the entire call. All records associated with a standard call will have the same global call identifier.This could be the reason for same global call ID repeats.
