We have a paging system and the question was raised if we have a network outage will the paging work. This is at our main site location, so SRST is not set up. Any suggestions to a solution?
Currently the paging system line feeds into a VG248.
Thanks in advance.

The answer depends on the type of network outage. If the gateway is down, paging will not work. If a switch is down, the phones connected to that switch could not page. One solution would be to have an analog phone connected to an FXS port on the gateway. This would cut out all points of failure except the gateway. You could also possibly connect the analog phone directly to the paging system which would cut out all network related failures.
Hope this helps.

Even with both Call Managers failing?

In this scenario, the only way to make paging work would be to have an analog phone connected directly to the paging system.
