PC Sound Cards for Soft phone - Which are best?

I have used softphone on a couple of Laptops and this seems to work ok. I have a customer who will be rollling out a number of softphones on to PC's and he has asked what are the best sound cards to use as he has heard that many sounds cards don't work well.

Any one got any recommends or bad expericences to avoid??

Cisco IP SoftPhone requires a full-duplex sound card for proper operation. Full-duplex sound cards can capture audio and play audio at the same time, allowing a conversation. The sound cards on most computers are full-duplex.
