Prefix digits to dial from Missed or Received Calls

Is there anyway to prefix the correct digits on the Missed or Received calls listing such that the number could be automatically dialed regardless of its type.

IE.

A local call would be prefixed 9xxx-xxxx

A National Call would be prefixed 91xxx xxx-xxxx

An International Call would be 9011!

This really depends on what kind of gateway you have.

If you are using MGCP gateways and have Call Manager 3.3.3(? may be 2) or later, then the call number type is passed to call manager and you can prefix call types with certain digit strings.

Go to service parameters, call manager and click the advanced button. Then scroll down to MGCP and you should find a number of settings (empty by default) for the prefix applied to incoming calls of specific number types, such as National / International etc... just put whatever you want the pre-fix to be in here.

If you have H.323 gateways then you can do similar things but at the gateway using translation rules on the incoming calls. But this is a little more complex to explain and unneccessary if you have MGCP.

Thanks Paul,

I am using MGCP and your solution worked like a charm.

Thanks again,

Service -> Service Parameters, select publisher and Cisco Call Manager Service.

Click the Advanced button and search (CTRL-F) for "prefix".

Take note that if you are in an area in which your carrier is preparing for or currently using 10 digit local dialing, all local calls likely get prefixed with your local area code and come in as 'national' calls. You will have to create route patterns that remove the prefix (usually 91) from the areacodes/exchanges that are local to you.

Haven't tried this yet, but we're told it will work.
