Problems with 7970 factory reset

After upgrading CCM 4.0(1) to 4.0(2)a

a 7970 phone has stopped working.

7970 firmware: cmterm-7970-sccp-6-0-1.

As it wasn´t booting at all I´ve performed a

factory reset. After the leds going yellow and red

for the reset they now keep going green and

doesn´t show startup window even 30 minutes later.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

This could be due to the issue with the switch to which the phones are connected to. Check if there are any issues with the switch.

The switch (Catalyst 2950) doesn´t seem to be the problem as I have now a 7960 connected to the same port I had the 7970 connected to working OK.

I think the firmware may have gone corrupt during

the factory reset or something like that. I´ve read

about a bug for 7935s in similar circumstances

making the 7935 unusable.

I had a 7970 phone quit working in the same manner that you have described. Only, mine stopped working when I was doing a firmware upgrade to the phone. Regardless, the phone would not complete the boot process and had to be RMA'd.

I also asked for RMA for my 7970,

as it won´t complete the boot process either.

Thanks for your comments.

Also, There is a new firmware release than the version you previously stated you were using.

Available on CCO download.
