Question about McAfee Antivirus

Hi,

I saw the post about "WARNING: Applying the latest DAT file from NAI (McAfee) can cause problem" issued by Mircosoft. I have some questions about the issue.

Is the issue related to the versions of McAfee Antivirus or only concern with the DAT file version?

Could anyone please explain in detail and post the link for downloading the Hotfix 2?
